INDIA: CHRISTMAS IN THE STYLE OF MDRE ELENA BETTINI

On the anniversary of the birth in Heaven of our Founder, Mother Elena Bettini, we celebrated Christmas with disadvantaged people who live in precarious situations. A few years have passed since that first celebration lived with the poor and needy. Since then, with great satisfaction and joy, we have continued this mission for the benefit of the elderly, children and those poor and sick people who we help during the year and also the others who have joined us for the celebration.

On December 21, nearly 200 people gathered in our school complex. The number was beyond our expectation. it was a morning spent in prayer, reflection, sharing and listening to offer them spiritual and moral support. The smiling faces of so many people oppressed by the fatigue of life, it was an emotional and unforgettable experience both for them and for us. Truly a piece that makes us remember the initial mission of our Institute and of our being in Palamaner.

At the same time, like the disciples of the miracle of the Multiplication of Bread, we were a little worried about how to feed all those people. Providence has shown us its concrete presence and its care for this service. There was enough food for everyone and what’s more, the leftover food was also enough for us nuns.

Subsequently we gave each of them a wool blanket to cover themselves in this cold season. They are small gestures, but they lift their basic needs.

Our joy and satisfaction made us recognize that Christmas is giving an act of love, we are increasingly convinced that ” no Christmas becomes blessed and holy if we do not love the poor and share with them what we have and if we do not Let’s take care of them like Jesus did . ”
As much as we can, let us try to be an outstretched hand of God’s Providence towards those in need as our Mother Foundress chose.
